Although the
SF83 for this information collection indicates that no change in
these requirements is being requested, the copy of HUD form 56142
submitted for OMB review appears to indicate that the Department
would like to change the information collection from "voluntary" to
"mandatory." The supporting statement for this information
collection request, however, neither indicates this change nor
provides a rationale for it. Consequently, OMB is not approving the
apparent change from voluntary to mandatory: This information
collection request shall remain voluntary. If the Department would
like to appeal this decision, it may submit an inventory correction
worksheet and memorandum explaining its need to collect this
information on a mandatory basis in lieu of resubmitting the entire
information collection request on an SF83.
