Abstract: THIS PILOT SURVEY WILL DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF COLLECTING DATA ON IMMIGRANT SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS. IF SUCCESSFUL, PERIODIC SURVEYS MA BE CONDUCTED TO PROVIDE ONGOING DATA ON THIS MISSING ELEMENT ON ESTIMATES OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CHARACTERISTICS OF SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS IN THE UNITED STATES.
