Abstract: THE GRANTEE PROPOSES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE SURVEY OF THE 50 STATE DEPARTMENTS OF CORRECTIONS, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, AND THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN SELECTED INFORMATION WITH WHICH TO UPDATE A 1984 STUDY OF LONG-TERM OFFENDERS. THE INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CORRECTIONA ADMINISTRATORS TO USE IN MANAGING THEIR INMATE POPULATIONS.
