Abstract: CONGRESS HAS REQUESTED NHTSA TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON CURRENT AND FUTURE AVAILABILITY OF REAR SEAT LAP/SHOULDER BELT RETROFIT KITS. THESE KITS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE FROM MANUFACTURERS TO CONSUMERS, THE COST AND WILLINGNESS OF DEALERS TO INSTALL THESE KITS AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON ITS BENEFITS.
