Abstract: THE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THE INFORMATION TO DETERMINE WHETHER AND WHEN TO ASSIGN DEFAULTED STUDENT LOANS FROM THE GUARANTEE AGENCIES TO ED FOR COLLECTIONS. THE DATA WIL BE USED TO COLLECT DEFAULTED GSLS AND TO TABULATE COLLECTION RESULTS. THE RESPONDENTS ARE TEN GUARANTEE AGENCIES WHICH ADMINISTER THE GSL FEDERAL AID PROGRAM.
