Abstract: STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PREPARE SAFETY PLANS, MONITOR POTENTIAL HAZARDS, PROVIDE TRAINING, DO MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE, AND MAKE AVAILABLE INFORMATION TO THEIR EMPLOYES INVOLVED IN HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATIONS AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE. THE INFORMATION WILL BE USED TO ENSURE THAT THESE EMPLOYES ARE TRAINED AND PROPERLY INFORMED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR WORK.
