Abstract: THIS INFORMATION COLLECTION IS NEEDED TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT ALL VESSELS CARRYING OIL TRANSPORTED THROUGH THE TRANS-ALASKA PIPELINE CAN MEET STATUTORY LIABILITY FOR OIL POLLUTION. WHEN ALL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED, A CERTIFICATE OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (ALASKA PIPELINE) IS ISSUED AND USED TO SHOW U.S. COAST GUARD OFFICIALS THAT THE VESSEL IS IN COMPLIANCE.
