Abstract: TVA CONDUCTS SURVEYS OF INDUSTRIAL FIRMS WHOSE EMPLOYEES PERFORM WORK SIMILAR TO THAT WORK PERFORMED BY TVA'S OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEES. THE DATA COLLECTED IS USED IN NEGOTIATIONS TO DETERMINE PREVAILING RATES OF PAY AND BENEFITS IN THE VICINITY AS REQUIRED BY THE TVA ACT.
