Abstract: THE USEPA RELIES ON ANALYTICAL DATA FROM A VARIETY OF LABS FOR MANY DECISIONS REGARDING WATER QUALITY IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE AGENCY HAVE AN OBJECTIVE DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRIBUTING LABS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VALID DATA. THE LABORATORY PE PROGRAM FULFILLS THIS NEED FOR DRINKING WATER, MAJOR POI SOURCE DISCHARGE AND AMBIENT WATER QUALITY ANALYSES.
