THIS STUDY ATTEMPTS TO INVESTIGATE THE
IMPACT OF THE MOTOR CARRIER ACT OF 1980 ON THE FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
OF SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZE CARRIERS RELATIVE TO LARGE CARRIERS. THE
PARTIAL DEREGULATION OF THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY HAS CREATED AN
ENVIRONMENT WITH SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ON SMALL AND MEDICUM CARRIERS
AS WELL AS SMALL AND MEDIUM SHIPPERS. T THE EXTENT THAT THE
FAVORABLE IMPACTS EXCEED DISADVANTAGES, THE CASE
