This information
collection is approved for use for one year. When this collection
is resubmitted for clearance, the agency should include the
following: 1) an assessment of how the guidebook is used for
reporting purposes. Many commenters raised concerns about OMB's
approval being premature in light of the status of the guidebook.
HRSA has stated that only the forms and instructions are necessary
for complying with data bank requirements. The assessment should
address the extent to which the guidebook, along with the
instructions, is an essential element in completing the forms 2) an
update on the progress made toward using improved information
technology (e.g., the use of magnetic tape and floppy disks for the
reporting of information) and an analysis of the cost savings
related to the use of technology 3) a reassessment of the burden
associated with completing each type of form 4) a report on
compliance problems, i.e., those who fail to meet reporting
requirements 5) a report on the contractor's ability to adhere to
reasonable timeframes for the processing, correcting and disclosing
of information and 6) a report on the percentage of malpractice and
adverse action reports that are disputed by the affected
practitioners.
