This survey is
approved through March 31, 1992 for the purpose of evaluating the
new survey design, with the understanding that the annual component
of the new design will replace the existing annual apparel survey.
During the period of clearance, the Census Bureau wil maintain
complete and accurate records of response to both quarterly and
annual components of the survey in order to evaluate the effect of
the shift of reporting burden from the annual series to the
quarterly series. This evaluation should be submitted for OMB
review no later than December 28, 1991. An action to remove the
Annual Apparel Survey (omb# 0607-0604) from the current inventory
should be submitted as soo as follow-up of the 1989 annual survey
is completed.
