Abstract: THIS QUESTIONNAIRE WILL SURVEY PROECTIVE CUSTODY UNITS IN 62 CORRECTIONS SYSTEMS IN THE UNITED STATES TO ANALYZE INSTITUTION AND POPULATION CHARACTERISTICS AND PROTECTIVE CUSTODY UNIT PROGRAMMING. QUESTIONNAIRES WILL BE SENT TO 51 CENTRAL OFFICES OF STATE DEPARTMENTS OF CORRECTION AND 11 FEDERAL PENITENTIARIES.
