THIS IS THE FIRST STUDY TO ASSESS THE
USES OF CONTINGENT WORKERS IN SMALL VS. LARGE FIRMS. THE RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY USES DATA FROM A MAIL SURVEY, SUPPLEMENTED BY SECONDARY
DATA. THE RESEARCH WILL ASCERTAIN THE INCIDENCE, REASONS, AND
REGULATORY BARRIERS TO CONTINGENT LABOR USE AND TYPES OF CONTINGENT
JOBS CREATED. LEGISLATION IN THIS AREA IS PENDING IN
CONGRESS.
