Abstract: THE COAST GUARD IS REQUIRED TO MONITOR LIGHTERING ACTIVITIES AND CONDUCT INSPECTION, ENFORCEMENT, AND CASUALTY AND POLLUTION RESPONSE ACTIVITIES. NOTICES OF VESSEL ARRIVAL, CASUALTIES AND POLLUTION INCIDENTS ENABLE THE COAST GUARD TO CONDUCT THESE ACTIVITIES.
