Continued use of
this form is approved for a limited period of time. The limited
term of this approval will result in a simultaneous OMB review of
both the SF85 and SF86. This simultaneous review will be beneficial
since many of the issues raised in litigation and public comment
are common to both forms. Any changes can then be applied to both
forms at the same time. OPM should now be taking appropriate steps
to extend to the SF85 the clarification regarding the SF86
described in FPM Bulletin 736-19. Further, OMB still expects OPM to
provide as soon as possible an analysis of practical utility of
arrest information as described by letter to OPM dated
8/31/88.
