Abstract: RULE 45 PROVIDES THAT REGISTERED HOLDING COMPANIES AND THEIR SUBSIDIARIES SHALL NOT MAKE LOANS OR EXTEND CREDIT TO COMPANIES IN THE SAME SYSTEM WITHOUT PRIOR COMMISSION APPROVAL, EXCEPT IN CERTAIN CASES THE RULE IS NEEDED TO MONITOR THE LEVEL OF INTRA-SYSTEM LOANS.
