OMB approves
this information collection for one year, in light o the upcoming
reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act. Moreover: o OMB notes
that the 1985 term of clearance regarding analysis of th
consistency across states in defining cases vs. non-cases was not
addressed formally until 1990, other than in the form of
"dialogue." We welcome the upcoming analysis that ED described in
its 9/11 submission to OMB, and ask that the Department make the
results of its analysis available to OMB for the public record in
the context of the next clearance of this document (in September,
1991). o Also in the context of the next clearance cycle, OMB
reasserts tha the information attained through this report must
meet with standards practical utility in accordance with the
provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980. Specifically,
the Department should provide greater detail about how this
information is used to fashion legislati proposals for
reauthorization, and to assist in the process of program
evaluation. o The package is approved as amended by the
Department's submissions of 8/23 and 9/11, addressing OMB concerns
of 8/15 and 8/31 (attached).
