Terms of Clearance: This information collection is approved for use until February 28, 199 No extensions of this expiration date will be approved by OMB. The supporting statement included in this package has not been updated since it was last submitted three years ago. For example, Question 14 states that the information collection 'is a new statutory requirement and a new information collection submittal.' This statement is the sa as submitted three years ago, but is no longer true. More specificall the previous terms of clearance asks for a re-estimate of the burden once the program was in operation and this remains unaddressed in this package. Another example of failure to update the package can be found in Question 9. Such omissions are indicative of a larger problem with OHDS and its preparation of packag for submission to OMB. OHDS' inability to properly complete the SF-83 and its supporting statement is grounds for OMB disapproval. Also, OH must submit its requests for extension of an expiration date separate from the package and before the actual date of expiration. When this package is next submitted, OHDS will have revised and update the supporting statement to reflect the current status of the program.

Abstract: THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM MAKES GRANTS TO STATES TO ENABLE THEM T AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CANDIDATES FOR THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE NATIONAL CREDENTIAL. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED TO INDIVIDUALS WHOSE INCOME DOES NOT EXCEED THE POVERT LINE BY MORE THAN 50 PERCENT.
