Terms of Clearance: Approved through June 1991 to provide time for the Internal Revenue Service to compare Form 2163 (c) with Optional Form 49, "Inquiry for U.S. Government Use only (Reference and Employment Inquiry)" and to ensure an adequate supply of forms during further review of the continued use of Form 2163 (c). A copy of Optional Form 49 has been supplied to the Department clearance office. The Department should report no later than January 15, 1990 on the suitability of the use Optional Form 49 in place of Form 2163(c). In its report the Department should explain in detail its need for any information not obtained on Optional Form 2163 (c).
