Abstract: NASA WALLOPS/GODDARD HAS DEVELOPEDA TOPOGRAPHICAL MAPPING TECHNIQUE USING LIDAR EQUIPPED AIRCRAFT WHOSE AERIAL POSITION IS LOCATED BY GLOB POSITIONING SATELLITES. SEVERAL SOURCES HAVE STATED AN INTEREST IN THE COMMERCIALIZATION OF THIS SYSTEM.
