OMB approves this information collection under the following conditions: o As NSF develops new forms in which only the relevant application dates change, all dates should reflect the current year's calendar. I addition, all updated forms should be submitted to OMB as soon as they are developed. Should any information other than calendar instruction need to be revised, NSF must resubmit the package for OMB review. o OMB reaffirms that the NSF Grants and Contracts office should make these forms consistent wherever possible, especially concerning letter of recommendation (which vary widely across programs) and format of specific data elements like educational attainment questions. o NSF must remove the words "negro" and "caucasian" from the racial categories listed for the NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship program, making the proper categories "black" and "white".
