This request is
approved with the changes proposed in the letter of October 22 for
the purpose authorized in 13 USC 193. If it is useful or necessary
to repeat this survey prior to the 1990 Economic Census, the new
request must be justified under the same section. Issues raised by
the National Association of Broadcasters do not negate the utility
of a section 193 survey, but must be fully addressed in any
proposal to collect similar data annually under secti 182.
Specifically, the Census Bureau must consider whether and how data
already collected by NAB should be incorporated into the design for
an annual survey. Information collected in the approved survey
should be used to evaluate these issues and to refine estimates of
reporting burden.
