Terms of Clearance: This questionnaire is disapproved. Though OMB recognizes the importance of programs improving faculty development in drug and alcohol treatment, it is unclear that this questionnaire successfully would evaluate the effectiveness of such programs for the following reasons: o The questionnaire relies upon self reporting which may be severely biased by the questions regarding grant proposal history. Experience in the pilot test does not indicate otherwise. o It is unclear how site visits will be used to validate self reporting in areas such as clinical practice. o It is unclear how grant research and publication questions will enhance understanding of the effectiveness of this training program. o The agency has not provided a detailed schedule for using this information in evaluating changes in physician practices and client outcomes.
