In accordance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR 1320, this Information
Collection Request (ICR) is approved for use through September,
1991. Whether or not this survey should continue, however, will
depend on CPSC providing evidence of its practical utility. Once
CPSC staff has collected and analyzed the information from this
compliance survey, they will provide OMB with an evaluation of its
results. These results should include -- the overal level of
industry compliance, the specific criteria used to evaluate
compliance, an analysis of the next action CPSC plan to undertake,
giv the determined level of industry compliance, and an overview of
possib enforcement actions against non-complying firms. In
addition, CPSC should provide OMB with a timeframe for surveying
retailer compliance.
