Abstract: IN 1988, CONGRESS REQUIRED THAT A STUDY OF THE GUARDIAN AD LITEM PROGR IN CHILD WELFARE BE CONDUCTED. THE PURPOSE IS TO DETERMINE HOW LEGAL REPRESENTATION IS PROVIDED TO CHILDREN AND TO EVALUATE THEIR EFFECTIVENESS. THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT MODELS OF GUARDIAN AD LITEM REPRESENTATION AND LITTLE IS KNOWN ABOUT THEM, SINGLY OR COMBINED.
