Terms of Clearance: In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR 1320, this information collection request is approved until May 1994 with the conditions that: 1) the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) vigorously pursue the recommendations to improve response rates contained in Attachment 1 to its supporting statement, and 2) USFWS provide OMB with a status report on its development of a new frame designed to improve rates for the Waterfowl Harvest Surveys by October 31, 1992.

Abstract: , 'WILDLIFE CONSERVATION'. MIGRATORY WATERFOWL HUNTING IS AUTHORIZED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES INCLUDING ALASKA. INFORMATION ON THE MAGNITUDE AND COMPOSITION OF THE HARVEST IS NEEDED FOR SOUND MANAGEMENT AND TO PRECLUDE OVER-HARVEST OF THE SPECIES INVOLVED. THE FORMS USED IN THESE SURVEYS PROVIDE THE MAJOR PART OF THAT INFORMATION.
