collection is approved for one year under the following conditions:
VA will evaluate whether the information collected through this
survey is adequate to set local pay scales at levels that are
competitive. When this information collection request is
resubmitted VA will report on the retention and recruitment status
of nurses in VA facilities. I particular, VA should address the
concerns raised by the American Nurses Association regarding the
need for pay information related to more years of experience.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION IS NECESSARY
TO IMPLEMENT PROVISION OF P.L. 101-366 WHICH PROVIDES FOR A
LOCALITY BASED PAY SYSTEM FOR NURSES AND OTHER HEALTH CARE
PERSONNEL WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.
