We have approved
this information collection, subject to the following conditions,
as discussed with the Agency: 1) OSHA shall refrain from using this
information to assess the effectiveness and adequacy of current
hazardous waste and emergency training programs. This surveywi only
have utility in helping OSHA to monitor the curriculum and method
typically employed in these programs. Methodology to be used will
not, however, allow OSHA to determine the efficacy of these
courses. Accord ingly, this information will not be suitable in
identifying "model" pr grams, courses, or curricula. 2) OSHA shall
share freely all informati gathered through this study with the
six-agency task force establishe under P.L. 101-615. 3) OSHA shall
permit respondents to provide answe to questions in written rather
than oral form, if they desire. 4) OSHA shall request cost per
course or per trainee information, identified by NIEHS as an
important variable in program quality. 5) OSHA shall submit this
information gathered from this survey to the docket for th proposed
1910.121 rulemaking.
