LENDERS MUST FILE FOR PAYMENT WITHIN 60-90 DAYS OF THE DEFAULT, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF CLAIM FILED. THE ED FORM 1207 IS THE ONLY VEHICLE FOR PAYMENT OF A FEDERAL INSURED STUDENT LOAN (FISL) CLAIM.
