Abstract: THE HATE CRIME STATISTICS ACT MANDATED A 5-YEAR DATA COLLECTION OF CRIMES MOTIVATED BY RELIGIOUS, ETHNIC, RACIAL, OR SEXUAL-ORIENTATION PREJUDICE. THE FBI'S UNIFORM CRIME REPORTS (UCR) SECTION HAS BEEN ASSIGNED THE TASK OF DEVELOPING AND MANAGING THE COLLECTION OF HATE CRIME THROUGH THE USE OF A SEPARATE REPORT.
