Abstract: THE CENSUS OF AGRICULTURE IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF AGRICULTURE DATA COMPARABLE AND CONSISTENT AT NATIONAL, STATE, AND COUNTY LEVELS. THE FIVE-YEAR CENSUS PROVIDES DATA FOR THE AGRICULTURE ECONOMY FOR BENCHMARKING MORE FREQUENT SAMPLE SURVEYS, EVALUATING GOVERNMENT FARM POLICIES AND PROGRAMS, AND ASSESSING AMERICAN AGRICULTURE.
