Abstract: SMALL BUSINESS INVESTMENT COMPANIES ARE LICENSED, REGULATED, AND EXAMINED BY SBA. THEY ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS WHICH HAVE BEEN AUDITED BY AN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT THIS INDEPENDENT AUDIT IS TO BE CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT AUDITING STANDARDS. ADDITIONALLY, SBIC'S WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN SUCH FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
