Abstract: FAMILY UNITY BENEFITS FOR SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF ALIENS LEGALIZED UNDER THE IMMIGRATION REFORM AND CONTROL ACT OF 1986 WHO WERE NOT THEMSELVES ELIGIBLE FOR LEGALIZATION. THE FORM I-817 WAS DEVELOPED TO COMPLY WITH SECTION 301 OF THE IMMIGRATION ACT OF 1990. THIS SECTION PROVIDES ELIGIBLE ALIENS WITH WITHHOLDING OF DEPORTATION AND EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION.
