OMB has approved
this form for one year, through November, 1992. In 1988, when FERC
made revisions to this form, the Department of Commerc (DOC)
requested that FERC add a few data elements to the ICR to be use by
DOC in computing certain GNP figures. FERC responded in its final
rulemaking that since the information was not necessary for their
purposes, and it did not know how large a burden it would impose on
th public, that it was not going to make the changes. Before FERC
resubmits this ICR for approval, FERC should discuss with DOC their
ne for additional data and its burden, and the two agencies should
determine whether or not it is appropriate to add these data
elements the current ICR. If the agencies cannot agree, the FERC
should notify OMB as soon as possible. When this ICR is
resubmitted, OMB will meet with FERC and DOC officials to review
both the utility of and the burd imposed by the information.
