RECREATIONAL BOATS ARE SUBJECT TO U.S.
COAST GUARD SAFETY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS. THE CG-5096
DECLARATION FORMS ARE USED BY THE COAST GUARD RECREATIONAL BOATING
PRODUCT ASSURANCE BRANCH AND THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS TO IDENTIFY
RECREATIONAL BOATS WHICH DO NOT COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE FEDERAL
SAFETY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS OR COMPANIES WHICH
WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION.
