Abstract: CONGRESS MANDATED THE COLLECTION OF NATIONAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY DATA. DATA COLLECTION DURING THE 1991-92 SCHOOL YEAR INCLUDES COGNITIVE EXERCISE IN READING, MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE, AND ACHIEVEMENT-RELATED STUDENT, TEACHER, AND SCHOOL BACKGROUND AND ATTITUDE QUESTIONNAIRES. RESPONDENTS WILL BE A NATIONAL SAMPLE OF STUDENTS AT AGES 9, 13, AND 1 GRADES 4, 8, AND 12 AND TEACHERS AND PRINCIPALS. DATA WILL BE USEFUL
