Abstract: FIRREA REQUIRES FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS REGULATORY AGENCIES TO ESTABLIS APPRAISAL STANDARDS FOR FEDERALLY RELATED TRANSACTIONS. THE RESULTING APPRAISAL INFORMATION WILL REDUCE A REGULATED INSTITUTION'S RISK OF LOSS AND WILL CONSEQUENTLY REDUCE RISK OF LOSS TO THE INSURANCE FUNDS.
