THIS REQUEST IS FOR A 3-YEAR APPROVAL
TO COLLECT BLOOD SPECIMENS AND QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSES FROM HEALTH
CARE WORKERS AND PUBLIC SAFETY WORKERS SUCH AS FIREFIGHTERS,
POLICE, AND PRISON GUARDS IN ORDER TO STUDY THE OCCUPATIONAL RISK
OF HEPATITIS B VIRUS (HBV) INFECTION. THE RESULTS OF THE PROPOSED
STUDY WILL ASSIST IN IDENTIFICATION OF WORKERS WHO ARE AT
OCCUPATIONAL RISK OF HBV INFECTION.
