Terms of Clearance: In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR 1320, this information collection request is approved for use through February 1995. Section 403(c) of SMCRA required standardized procedures for th AML National Inventory program, and OSM has enlarged this collection. However, OSM should continue to evaluate opportunities to reduce the burden and complexity of the supplemental forms and the cost/unit information. Also, OSM should reduce duplicative data elements, especially in the general information section.

Abstract: THIS FORM WILL BE USED TO UPDATE THE OFFICE OF SURFACE MINING RECLAMATION AND ENFORCEMENT'S INVENTORY OF ABANDONED MINE LANDS. FROM THIS INVENTORY, THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM AREAS ARE SELECTED FOR RECLAMATION THROUGH THE APPORTIONMENT OF FUNDS TO STATE AND INDIAN TRIBES.
