Abstract: S CLAIMS, MERCHANT MARINERS, VESSEL LIABILITY, RECOVERY DEMAND THIS RULE AFFECTS MERCHANT MARINERS AND/OR THEIR LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES WHO REQUEST MONETARY DAMAGE RECOVERY FOR ILLNESS OR INJURY THE MERCHAN MARINER INCURS WHILE EMPLOYED ON BOARD A MARITIME ADMINISTRATION (MARAD) OWNED VESSEL. MARAD REQUESTS THIS INFORMATION IN ORDER TO EVALUATE ALLEGED VESSEL LIABILITY AND REASONABLENESS OF RECOVERY DEMANDS.
