Terms of Clearance: THE REQUEST FOR OMB APPROVAL OF THE FULL STUDY SHALL CONTAIN A DETAILE REPORT OF THE RESULTS OF THE PILOT STUDY. THE REPORT SHALL INCLUDE A PERCENTAGE BREAKDOWN OF THE DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIPS TO THE SUBJECT (E.G., MOTHER, UNCLE) OF THE "SUITABLE SURROGATE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE SUBJECT'S CHILDHOOD," AND THE PERCENTAGE OF THE PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A FAMILY MEMBERS. THE REPORT SHALL ALSO INCLUDE AN ASSESSMENT OF THE SELF-REPORTING AND/OR RECALL BIASES IN BOTH THE DOSIMETRY SURVEY AND THE IN-PERSON QUESTIONNAIRE.

Abstract: AN EPIDEMIOLOGIC STUDY WILL BE CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE WHETHER THYROID DISEASE IS INCREASED AMONG PERSONS EXPOSED AS YOUNG CHILDREN TO RADIOACTIVE IODINE RELEASED FROM THE HANFORD NUCLEAR SITE. THE CURREN DATA COLLECTION IS A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO TEST PROCEDURES AND DETERMIN ACTUAL LEVEL OF EXPOSURE.
