Abstract: FOR PURPOSES OF SECTION 148, THE PROPOSED REGULATION PROVIDES RULES NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE REFUNDING PORTION OF A MULTIPURPOSE ISSUE. UNDER THE REGULATION, AN ISSUER THAT ISSUES A BOND PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE REGULATION MAY ELECT TO APPLY TO THAT BOND A METHOD IN THE REGULATION FOR ALLOCATING THE PORTIONS OF A MULTIPURPOSE ISSUE.
