Terms of Clearance: This information collection is disapproved because CDC has not adequately demonstrated the need for such a study. The justification for conducting the survey argues that there is a "well-documented shortage of qualified scientists and technical personnel." Such an assertion is questionable absent rigorous data from CDC proving such a shortage exists, and in light of the fact that CDC indicates that its selections were based in large part on perception of the problem.
