Abstract: LIFESAVING, FIRE PROTECTION, AND EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT MUST BE IDENTIFIE AS TO ITS MANUFACTURER, MODEL NUMBER, APPROVAL NUMBER, AND OTHER INFORMATION CONCERNING ITS PERFORMANCE. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY VESSEL OPERATORS AND COAST GUARD INSPECTORS TO DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WI REGULATIONS. MANUFACTURERS AND VESSEL OPERATORS ARE THE AFFECTED PUBLIC.
