Approved for use through 4/94 under the following conditions: 1) No later than 12/92, HRSA briefs OMB on the sec. 421 report to Congress' findings regarding treatment of small malpractice payments; 2) The next submission for OMB review includes: a) an update on HRSA's progress in ensuring that only eligible entities are receiving information from the Data Bank or reporting information to the Data Bank; b) incorporation of sec. 421 report recommendations or a workpla for final adoption of such recommendations; and c) a discussion and workplan, developed in consultation with AHCPR, for evaluating malpractice and administrative/peer review data as indicators of quality of care and desirable patient outcomes.
