regarding treatment of small malpractice payments; 2) The next
submission for OMB review includes: a) an update on HRSA's progress
in ensuring that only eligible entities are receiving information
from the Data Bank or reporting information to the Data Bank; b)
incorporation of sec. 421 report recommendations or a workpla for
final adoption of such recommendations; and c) a discussion and
workplan, developed in consultation with AHCPR, for evaluating
malpractice and administrative/peer review data as indicators of
quality of care and desirable patient outcomes.

DATA IDENTIFYING INCOMPETENT,
UNPROFESSIONAL, AND UNETHICAL PHYSICIANS AND HEALTH PRACTITIONERS
WILL BE SHARED WITH LICENSING BOARDS, PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES, AND
SELECTED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. THESE DATA WILL BE USED TO MAINTAIN
AND IMPROVE HEALTH CARE AND WILL B OBTAINED FROM INSURERS,
LICENSURE BOARDS, PEER REVIEW COMMITTEES, HOSPITALS, AND OTHER
PROVIDERS.
