Abstract: NPDES PERMITTEES MUST NOTIFY EPA OR THE STATE AGENCY OF EVENTS WHICH MAY RENDER PERMIT CONDITIONS OR LIMITATIONS INAPPROPRIATE. AN APPLICA MUST SUBMIT INFORMATION SO THE PERMITTING AUTHORITY CAN ASSESS WHETHER THE FACILITY IS ELIGIBLE FOR A VARIANCE AND WHAT DEVIATION FROM THE CLEAN WATER ACT IS NECESSARY.
