This information
collection request is approved in concept only. HCFA needs to
better explain how the information will be used and how the small
sample size will sustain such uses, particluarly given that many
potential aspects of hospitals, ASCs, and physician offices that
are likely to affect cost differentials will not be captured. OMB
encourages HCFA to set up a meeting with OMB staff to explain how
this collection effort fits in with other data efforts that ensure
more representative data.
