Abstract: THE OCC NEEDS HARD DATA TO DETERMINE THE LEVEL AND TYPE OF NATIONAL BANK ACTIVITY IN LOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. THE OCC WILL USE THE INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM NATIONAL BANKS TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ITS PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE NATIONAL BANKS TO CONTINUE AND EXPAND THEIR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS.
