Terms of Clearance: This information collection is approved through 5-94 under the following conditions, as agreed to by FNS: the Agency will 1)add questions soliciting information on the State pilot study experience; 2)Add a row for Child Support in Appendix G,C1 and C2; 3)Add a question to Appendix G asking the respondent to identify any problems or barriers they experienced in integrating the other welfare systems; 4)For Appendix H, FNS will collapse the categories in the detailed format agreed to by OMB and the agency. 5)Delete A3, in Appendix H. 6) Change the questions B3-B7 from "Compared to the time before the current system was installed" to "Under the new system" in Appendix H. 7)Make corresponding changes in Appendix I, as those made in Appendix 8) FNS will ensure that the questionnaires go out with sufficient time so that the results will be in before the interviewers go into the States.

Abstract: FNS NEEDS TO ASSESS THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION OF STATE DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS USED FOR THE DELIVERY OF FOOD STAMPS. AND EVALUATE THE FEDERAL APPROVAL PROCESS, TO DEVELOP GUIDELINES FOR FNS TO USE IN PROPOSING STANDARDS FOR STATE SYSTEMS AND FOR APPROVAL OF STATE APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS.
